The Spirit of Color and Dyeing for the Wow with Mary Zicafoose
Day One: Inspired by the work of the legendary colorist Josef Albers, students will create a personal color workbook composed of exercises using Color Aid silk screen papers. After cutting and pasting through the rules, we will brave into bending theory, value and hue, striving to speak with a new understanding and frequency in our own compositions.
Day Two: Students will learn Mary's simple, safe, and accurate procedure for the use of acid dyes on wool and silk and her system of recordkeeping. Participants will leave the class inspired to take their work to the next level, with new skills and heightened color confidence.
Skill Requirements: All skill levels welcome!

I have been designing and weaving tapestries and rugs for three decades. My workshop curriculum is a distillation of the best of what I have learned and use, along with great tips and techniques passed onto me from my mentors in the art and weaving worlds. Everything I present is conceived to inspire the senses and revitalize the artist/weaver's body, mind and spirit.
