Growing Up Making 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Sienna’s journey as a maker started at a young age. She grew up surrounded by creatives who sought to explore the potential of any given media. In this presentation, Sienna will share her story from early creative endeavors, to her experience in art school (where she learned to weave), and her life today. As a weaver, Sienna uses a variety of looms, and has become particularly interested in exploring color through weaving.
Sienna Bosch Bio:
Sienna received her BFA in fiber art and art education from Colorado State University where she originally learned to weave. Sienna went to school to study sculpture, but after sitting down at the loom for the first time, she knew it would be a part of her life forever. She then decided to focus on textiles. Sienna is a lover of all things weaving. Her studio in Boulder, Colorado where she creates weavings with hand-dyed yarn. She has published articles/projects in Little Looms, Schacht's online project collection, as well as the John C. Campbell Folk School blog. Her work has been displayed throughout Colorado in solo and group exhibitions. At heart, Sienna is a teacher. She has taught makers of all ages how to weave. She works at Schacht Spindle Company (a manufacturer of high-quality looms and spinning wheels) where she is their Content Developer and Education Specialist. Sienna's role at Schacht is developing curriculum, teaching classes, making educational videos, editing weaving patterns and designs, testing products in product design, and more.
